Defragmentation

Often, when files are saved to the hard disk, they get 'fragmented', or scattered across the drive. The computer then has to waste valuable CPU cycles to read the entire file.

To defragment these files, go to your start menu, then select 'All Programs' and go to 'Accesories'. From there, choose 'System Tools' and select 'Disk Defragmentor'. Start the Defragmentor, and go do something in the meantime.
